Welcome to The Paperhound Online Bookshop — a cosy online space where secondhand stories find new homes. Every book lover knows the feeling — that comforting, ever-growing stack of books that slowly takes over your home. For me, what started as a personal library full of joy and curiosity eventually turned into something more: a secondhand bookshop with heart.

🏡 How The Paperhound Online Bookshop Started

I began building The Paperhound Online Bookshop website in August 2023. It quietly went live in July 2024. The shop started simply — I had too many books for one person. I wanted to make space for a more curated collection that reflects my current taste. Instead of letting the overflow gather dust, I chose to share it.

And something wonderful happened.

As I helped people find books, I began sourcing titles that weren’t on my shelves. The joy of the hunt, learning about new authors, and finally finding the right book for the right person — it was incredibly fulfilling. I wasn’t just selling books. I was helping stories find new homes.

📖 Why Books Matter

Books have always been a big part of my life. They’re how I escape into other worlds, learn new things, and understand others. Reading is fun, but it’s also powerful. It builds empathy and strengthens vocabulary.

🐶 Meet the Paperhound: Pip and the Logo Story

If you’ve seen my logo — a little dog with a bag of books — you’ve already met Pip. She’s my Jack Russell Terrier and the heartbeat of this shop.

I drew the original logo during the early days of COVID. Back then, I crocheted and sold backpacks. Sadly, due to medical issues, I had to stop. My hands could no longer keep up with the motion.

Still, I loved that drawing of Pip. So when the bookshop came to life, I brought her back. I imagined her trotting along with a pack of stories on her back. And just like that, The Paperhound Online Bookshop got its name — my loyal pup turned literary mascot.

• Annotation kits for fellow note-makers and margin-scrawlers
• Mystery reading envelopes for the curious and brave

And maybe one day — a quiet introvert café. Think: library vibes, soft lighting, pastries, and peace. It may never happen, but it’s a dream I hold close.
